Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has said he is happy that they work they put into growing theatre in Ghana has become a success.
According to him, although his dream of shaping the sector has now become evident, the task ahead in terms of sustainability, is huge.
Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio, the actor outlined the importance of their audience who patronize the projects they trade.
“It’s a relief because we’ve always yearned for this that we worked tirelessly over the years and we are beginning to see that it’s bearing fruits now. The only thing is that we still can’t do it alone and that’s why we have partnership with our audiences who continually patronize our projects and products,” he said.
He further reiterated the urgent need for corporate support, calling out to stakeholders to join the course in growing the theatre.
“We’re also reaching out to the corporate spaces and all stakeholders to come on board, together because there are many things that we can do together. It’s relieving andexciting to know that the next phase will even see bigger things happening so let’s all join hands and let this work,” he added.
He also admonished his colleagues in the creative sector to develop the spirit of oneness to build a united front amid all obstacles.
“It starts with us, doesn’t it? I mean how we relate to one another, how we hold each other in high esteem, is so crucial and when it starts at home then the world looks at us and say these people are one and so united front, oneness even when we have differences, we don’t wash our dirty linens in public.
Let us keep together and be each other’s brother’s keeper so that once we have the united front, nothing can break us and so we remaining in oneness is very crucial in this sense”, he said.
Adjetey Anang said this on the sidelines of the launch of ‘Ghana Must Go’ an upcoming theatre project by Latif Abubakar’s Globe Productions.
