Nana Yaa Jantuah, a Presidential Staffer, has issued a passionate plea for integrity and accountability in government, decrying the persistent mismanagement of public resources that has left many Ghanaians in poverty despite the country’s abundant wealth.
Speaking in an interview on Radio Mak, monitored by Newsnetgh.com, Jantuah expressed deep frustration over the recurring misuse of public funds following every change in government.
“Every time there’s a new government, we hear that people have misused money. For how long? The people are poor and poor and poor. Why?” she questioned.
She emphasized that Ghana’s natural and financial resources should serve the citizens rather than enrich a select few. “We have resources in this country. It is for us. Ghanaians shouldn’t be going abroad to clean toilets or be in detention camps when this country is rich,” Jantuah lamented.
Her remarks painted a stark picture of a system that has repeatedly failed its people, highlighting the need for urgent reforms.
“Eight years in power and all we hear are reports of misuse. It has to stop,” she declared, urging an end to the cycle of corruption that has hindered national development.
Jantuah’s call underscores growing public demand for transparency and accountability, as citizens continue to bear the brunt of poor governance despite Ghana’s vast economic potential.
