Former Big Brother Naija star Tokunbo Idowu, widely known as TBoss, has urged the Nigerian government to follow Italy’s lead by introducing chemical castration as a punishment for rapists and child abusers.
Her comments came in reaction to a policy shift by the Italian government, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which is moving toward legalizing the use of androgen-blocking drugs—commonly referred to as chemical castration—for violent sex offenders.
In September, Italian lawmakers approved the formation of a committee to draft legislation that would enable the use of such treatment as a strict deterrent.
Responding to the development, TBoss took to Instagram, reposting news of the Italian decision with a short but firm message: “Agreed. Nigeria should be next.”
TBoss gained national attention as a finalist on the 2017 edition of Big Brother Naija (See Gobe).
A mother of one, TBoss often uses her platform to speak on social issues, particularly those affecting women and children.
