General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua has clarified that the party’s chairman has not written officially to inform them of his ill health.
According to him, the party’s chairman has only received a letter from his family notifying them of the health of their leader.
He explains that the party party will wait for an official notice from the chairman before any decision can be taken.
However, in his absence, he clarified that the party’s Vice Chairmen will have to fill in the gap created.
Speaking to the 1957 news in an interview ahead of the party’s NEC meeting, Justin Kodua indicated that “it is a normal meeting, I am not the leader of the party.
The national chairman is the leader of the party, we have not officially heard from him, it is the family that wrote the letter to us. In the absence of the national chairman there are Vice Chairman. The Vice Chairman takes over not the General Secretary”.
