The Odikro of Manso Adwumamu in the Amansie West District, Nana Yaw Asubonteng, has appealed to the government and development partners to urgently provide the community with additional classroom blocks, trained teachers, and a health clinic.
According to him, the lack of these basic facilities continues to undermine education and healthcare delivery in the area. He described the state of existing school infrastructure as “discouraging and unacceptable,” stressing that both teachers and pupils are struggling under difficult conditions.
Nana Asubonteng revealed that many teachers have applied for transfers due to the absence of basic amenities, a trend that has severely affected academic performance in the community.
“We are being left behind, and our children are paying the price,” he lamented. “Overcrowded classrooms and lack of resources make effective teaching and learning almost impossible.”
Backing the Odikro’s call, the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Mark Asamoah, together with some local teachers, reiterated the urgent need for an ultramodern classroom block to create a conducive learning environment.
They further emphasized that investing in both educational and health infrastructure would not only improve academic outcomes but also attract and retain skilled teachers and healthcare professionals, ensuring sustainable development for Manso Adwumamu.
