Kasoa Murder: Police arrest ‘Biggie’ over brutal Tuba Net-Link Estates killings

The Ghana Police Service has arrested 39-year-old Samuel Amoah, popularly known as Biggie, in connection with the gruesome murder of three people at Tuba Net-Link Estates, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

The arrest was confirmed by the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, during a press briefing in Accra on Saturday, September 20.

According to her, the incident occurred on May 19, 2024, when police officers responded to a violent crime scene at a residence in Tuba Net-Link Estates. There, they discovered the lifeless body of a woman, identified as Alberta Hagan, together with two of her children, all lying in a pool of blood in their room.

“One of the children was found alive but with multiple deep cuts to the head, while a five-month-old baby was rescued unharmed from a sofa in the hall,” COP Donkor revealed. The injured child was rushed to hospital, while the deceased were conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy. A post-mortem confirmed severe head injuries caused by assault as the cause of death.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Biggie, had been cohabiting with Alberta Hagan but their relationship had recently turned sour due to financial disputes. In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked Alberta and her children before fleeing the scene.

After months of intelligence operations, police finally tracked down and arrested the suspect on September 17, 2025, at Suhum in the Eastern Region. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and expressed remorse for his actions.

COP Donkor assured the public that justice would be pursued with urgency. “The suspect remains in custody assisting with investigations and will soon be arraigned before court. The Ghana Police Service is committed to handling this case with the professionalism it deserves,” she said.

The tragic case has sent shockwaves through Kasoa and beyond, reigniting public concerns about rising violent crimes in the area.
