“I don’t give jobs only to women” – Adongo fires back at critics

Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo, has shot down claims that he reserves job opportunities only for women in his constituency, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

Speaking on Bolga FM’s Zina Yela show with Joshua Asaah, Mr. Adongo stressed that his focus is on helping unemployed constituents, particularly those from struggling backgrounds, regardless of gender.

“I heard people saying that when we came, I only give job opportunities to ladies. But are the ladies not our sisters? Are they not our wives? The truth is, I don’t discriminate. Most of the time, I don’t even know the people I recommend for jobs. My priority is to get my people employed so they can feed their families,” he stated.

According to him, job placements are often made through community leaders who submit names of qualified candidates. He emphasized that if a recommended candidate happens to be a woman, there’s no reason to reject her.

Mr. Adongo, who also chairs Parliament’s Finance Committee, assured constituents that he will continue to fight for more job opportunities and development projects for the Bolgatanga Central constituency.
