The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the disbursement of a GHS8,989,866.00 feeding grant to Special Needs Schools nationwide, providing crucial support for the education and well-being of learners with disabilities.
In a statement signed by GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyii on Wednesday, June 25, the Service confirmed that the funds cover feeding requirements for all students in Special Needs institutions across the country.
“This is a significant step in advancing inclusive education in Ghana,” the statement noted, applauding the government’s continued commitment to learners with special needs.
GES also expressed gratitude to school heads, staff, and students for their patience and dedication during the wait for the grant disbursement, emphasizing that the funding forms part of broader efforts to ensure equitable access to quality education.
“GES remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to deliver inclusive education for every learner, regardless of ability,” the release concluded.
