Founder of the Alagumgube social pressure group, Mr. Gabriel Agambila, has been selected for a special honour at the 4th Upper East Regional Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
The event, slated for Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Blue Sky Hotel in Zuarungu, will recognise Mr. Agambila’s outstanding leadership and tireless contributions to community and regional development.
According to the GJA, Mr. Agambila’s pivotal role in collaborating with stakeholders to secure a temporary Passport Application Office for the Upper East Region, alongside his relentless advocacy for the construction of a regional airport, has had a profound impact on the lives of residents.
“Your presence will not only add value to the event but also inspire others to contribute selflessly towards the progress of the region,” the Association stated in its notification letter signed by Regional Secretary, Anthony Adongo Apubeo.
The ceremony, held under the theme “Upholding Public Trust: The Role of the Media in Promoting Accountable Governance in the Upper East Region”, will celebrate journalistic excellence while acknowledging individuals whose efforts drive positive change in the region.
Mr. Agambila’s recognition underscores the growing importance of citizen-led initiatives in addressing long-standing development challenges in the Upper East Region.
