Yaa-Naa makes historic visit to Jakpa Palace in Damongo

The Overlord of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, paid a historic visit to Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I at his palace in Damongo on Sunday, February 16.

The visit symbolized unity and mutual respect between the Dagbon and Gonja Kingdoms.

Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II recognized the Yagbon Kingdom’s vital role in fostering peace within Dagbon and reaffirmed the strong ties between the two kingdoms.

He also expressed support for President John Dramani Mahama, praising his efforts to reshape and develop the nation.

Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I highlighted the ongoing challenge of chieftaincy succession disputes, particularly in northern Ghana.

Savannah Regional Minister Salisu Be-Awuribe commended the visit, describing it as a major step toward strengthening peace and unity between the two kingdoms.
