The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo, Joseph Akasake Abaah, has commended the Member of Parliament, Lawyer Charles Bawa Duah, for his prompt and impactful intervention following a devastating rainstorm that damaged several schools in the constituency.
Speaking during a joint inspection of recently reroofed school buildings, DCE Abaah hailed the MP’s commitment to education and community welfare.
“The MP’s timely action has brought major relief to both students and teachers. His dedication ensured that education in the affected areas resumed quickly,” the DCE stated.
Lawyer Bawa Duah recently funded the reroofing of nine storm-hit schools and a CHPS compound, a move that restored conducive learning and healthcare environments for thousands.
While praising the MP’s initiative, DCE Abaah also pledged to address another pressing challenge — the lack of adequate furniture in schools across the district.
“Our next focus is tackling the chronic furniture shortage that continues to affect classroom comfort and participation. We’re working to ensure every child has a desk to sit and learn,” he assured.
The DCE’s remarks reflect growing collaboration between local leadership and elected representatives aimed at improving educational infrastructure in Ghana’s Upper East Region, particularly in rural communities vulnerable to natural disasters.
The inspection tour, which included education officials and community leaders, signaled a united front in building resilient school systems for the benefit of future generations.
