GWL urges calm amid water shortages in parts of Ghana

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has called for patience as it works to resolve water shortages affecting several communities, including Tamale, Bimbilla, Kasoa, and Ho.

The crisis has severely impacted daily life, with hospitals and prisons in Ho struggling to find alternative water sources to sustain operations.

Speaking to Channel One TV, GWL Communications Manager Stanley Martey reassured residents of Tamale, Bimbilla, and Kasoa that measures are underway to restore supply. He specifically promised that Ho’s water crisis would be resolved within a week.

“We apologise for the inconvenience, but we are working around the clock to restore water flow. By the end of the week, the situation should normalise,” he assured.

He added that two standby pumps would be installed as a short-term solution. Martey also urged residents to avoid water theft to ensure fair distribution.
