I want a stadium and a Teaching Hospital – Bolga Tidaana to Upper East Regional Minister

The Bolga-Tidaana (landowner) has urged the newly sworn-in Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, to prioritize the construction of a stadium and a teaching hospital in the region.

Speaking at a durbar organized to welcome the minister from Accra, the traditional leader highlighted the urgent need for a well-equipped medical facility, lamenting that many residents die when referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for specialized care.

“Our people suffer because we do not have a teaching hospital. By the time they reach Tamale, some do not survive. We need a well-equipped hospital here,” he emphasized.

The Bolga-Tidaana also stressed the importance of a modern stadium, stating that the region has talented athletes who lack the necessary infrastructure to develop their skills.

Expressing confidence in the new minister, he said, “Donatus Akamugri Atanga is my son. I believe he is the right person to make this happen.”

The call comes as residents of the Upper East Region continue to advocate for improved infrastructure to boost healthcare and sports development. It remains to be seen how the new minister will respond to these demands.
