A 13-year-old boy, identified as Sherif, has tragically lost his life in the Singnatinga-Possum area of Bawku.
The boy was attacked while grazing animals near the old cattle market, where his assailants reportedly snapped his neck, leading to his death.
Sherif’s body has been laid to rest in Kpalugu, a suburb of Bawku, following local burial customs.
This incident raises the death toll in Bawku to 42 since the resurgence of conflict in October.
Despite an 8 PM to 5 AM curfew imposed to restore order, sporadic violence continues to threaten peace and stability in the area.
Although authorities have reported some improvement in security, the volatile situation highlights the urgent need for lasting solutions to end the unrest.
