Sports sector not exempt from ORAL – Sports Minister-designate

The Sports Minister-Designate, Kofi Adams, has revealed that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative will address financial malfeasance in the sports sector if credible information is provided.

Speaking to the media on January 23, 2025, during his visit to the venue for the GHALCA elections, Kofi Adams emphasized that no sector, including the presidency, is exempt from scrutiny under ORAL.

“ORAL operates across all facets of the country. If there is any information requiring investigation, it will be addressed. Sports is an integral part of our national activities, and nothing is off the radar when it comes to ensuring accountability,” he stated.

He further clarified that the Ministry of Sports, along with its agencies and federations, will also be subject to oversight.

“If the presidency is not excluded, we don’t expect the Ministry of Sports or its agencies to be exempt. True accountability encourages greater commitment, and I believe these measures will ensure transparency,” he added.

The ORAL initiative aims to promote accountability and recover misappropriated resources in all sectors of the country.
