Mahama Ayariga to replace Ato Forson as Majority Leader in parliament

Hon. Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, is set to replace Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the Majority Leader in Parliament.

This change follows Dr. Ato Forson’s recent approval as Ghana’s Minister for Finance. The decision to appoint Ayariga is aimed at fortifying the Majority’s leadership in Parliament, leveraging his extensive legislative experience.

Meanwhile, Cape Coast South MP Kweku Ricketts-Hagan is expected to succeed Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, who has been appointed as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.

Other notable shifts include South Dayi MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, who is likely to assume the role of Majority Chief Whip, and Ada MP Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, expected to be promoted to First Deputy Whip.

The reshuffle seeks to enhance the Majority’s capacity to meet governance demands and ensure effective parliamentary oversight.
