-

The stage is set for a thrilling football spectacle as the Upper West Regional Division Two Middle League kicks off from 10th to 18th May 2025 at the McCoy College of Education Astro Turf in Nadowli. Six formidable clubs from three zones will clash in a fierce contest for a coveted promotion slot into the Access Bank Division One League.

This year’s edition promises to be the most competitive yet, featuring unbeaten giants, first-time hopefuls, redemption seekers, and dark horses determined to make history.

Kalibi SC headline the charge from Zone One. The debutants had a remarkable season, recording 15 wins out of 18 matches and accumulating 46 points, making them a top contender for qualification. Kalibi’s eye-catching performances have positioned them as the team to beat—but they’ll need to maintain that momentum on the big stage.

Close on their heels is fellow debutant Exponential FC, who narrowly secured their Middle League berth with 44 points. Despite losing their decisive match to Maana FC, a successful protest reversed their fate, allowing them into the competition. Often overlooked, they arrive with something to prove and could upset the odds.

From Zone Two, TF Exponential FC arrives as one of the tournament favorites. They finished their regular season undefeated in 18 games, collecting an astonishing 50 points. After near-misses in previous years, the pressure is on for TF Exponential to finally secure the promotion they’ve long pursued.

They are joined by JSB FC, the surprise package of Zone Two. In their first Division Two campaign, they amassed 37 points from 11 wins and 4 draws showcasing impressive resilience and ambition. As underdogs, they carry no burden of expectation—just the hunger to succeed.

Zone Three sends Soccer Babies FC and Real24Hours FC into the mix. Soccer Babies, another debutant, finished with 36 points from 11 wins and 3 draws and are considered the dark horses of the tournament. Without pressure, they could spring some surprises.

Meanwhile, Real24Hours FC returns with unfinished business. Having narrowly missed out on promotion in last season’s playoffs, they are back with renewed determination. Their 30 points from 8 wins and 6 draws may not scream dominance, but their playoff experience and hunger for redemption make them a team to watch.

With only one promotion slot up for grabs, the intensity of the competition will be unmatched. The spotlight will be on TF Exponential’s quest for redemption, Kalibi SC’s dream debut, and whether JSB or Soccer Babies can upset the traditional powerhouses.

There’s also much talk around Exponential FC’s controversial inclusion after a protest ruling. They’ll be eager to silence doubters by performing on the pitch and proving they deserve their place among the contenders.

Fans across the Upper West Region can expect a tournament packed with drama, passion, and high-stakes football, as the six teams battle it out for the golden ticket to Ghana’s Division One League.
