Traditional leaders from the Ashanti Region and beyond gathered at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to mark the iconic Akwasidae festival with His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
Held every six weeks, the Akwasidae festival is a cornerstone of Ashanti culture, honoring ancestors, preserving traditions, and fostering unity within the Ashanti Kingdom.
This celebration featured a vibrant showcase of traditional regalia, drumming, dancing, and pageantry, highlighting the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
Among the high-profile attendees expected at the event was former President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by other prominent figures from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
