Aduana Stars has been thrown into mourning following the tragic loss of two fans after the club’s match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
In a statement released on Monday, the Dormaa-based club confirmed that the incident occurred at Aboaso in the Ashanti Region on Sunday night as supporters were returning home from the game.
“We are aware of the incident involving some of our fans at Aboaso in the Ashanti Region last night. We regret to announce that two of the fans have lost their lives, and two others are currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital responding to treatment,” the statement said.
Aduana Stars added that it is in close contact with the affected families, as well as relevant authorities, to ensure the necessary support is provided. The club assured the public that updates will be communicated as more information becomes available.
The statement also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured supporters a speedy recovery.
