TV3’s Upper East correspondent Castro Senyalah has been crowned the Journalist of the Year for the Upper East Region B branch of Ghana Journalists Association Awards, affirming his position as one of the most dedicated and influential voices in the region’s media landscape.
At the 4th Upper East Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards held at Blue Sky Hotel, Senyalah also picked up the Best Good Governance and Accountability Journalist Award, adding another milestone to his distinguished career.
The ceremony, organized by the Ghana Journalists Association, recognizes outstanding media professionals whose work promotes transparency, accountability, and regional development.
Senyalah, who reports for TV3, a subsidiary of Media General and manages Navrongo-based Mike Fm, was celebrated for his fearless investigative stories that expose corruption, highlight governance failures, and give a voice to the voiceless. His reports have consistently shed light on issues affecting rural communities and challenged duty bearers to act with integrity.
Organizers commended him for his professionalism, courage, and commitment to ethical journalism, describing his work as a model of how the media can drive positive change and uphold democratic values.

Now in its fourth year, the Upper East GJA Awards continues to inspire journalists across the region to embrace excellence, objectivity, and impact in their reporting.
The 2025 edition of the awards was supported by The SHARE Project, implemented in partnership with FHI 360, WaterAid, and the Government of Canada with support from brands, organizations, and individuals from the region.
