The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Hon. Isaac Adongo, has extended support to the Alagugumbe group to aid the operationalization of the Upper East Regional Passport Office.
The lawmaker donated two air conditioners, four ceiling fans, and 25 cubic chippings to the project spearheaded by the group and its founder, Gabriel Agambila. He also pledged an additional air conditioner and GH₵5,000 to cater for workers supporting the office setup.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Adongo commended the Alagugumbe group and its founder for their dedication, citing their efforts not only towards the passport office but also in advocating for the Upper East airport project. He encouraged them to continue championing initiatives that drive development in the region.
He emphasized that once operational, the passport office would ease the burden on residents of the Upper East and parts of the North East Region, who would no longer need to travel long distances to acquire passports.
Founder of Alagugumbe, Gabriel Agambila, expressed gratitude to the MP for his timely support. He called on individuals, corporate entities, and leaders in the region to rally behind the initiative to ensure the passport office becomes fully functional by next month.
The donation comes in the wake of concerns raised by the Paramount Chief of Bongo over what he described as the failure of the 15 lawmakers from the Upper East Region to rally behind initiatives that directly benefit their constituents.
