The Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salahudeen Musah, has debunked a viral video and accompanying audio recording suggesting that he promised political favoritism along ethnic lines in Bawku.
The video, which has been widely shared on social media, alleges that Musah told party delegates in Bawku that “when Dr. Bawumia becomes president, he will take from the Kusaasis and give it to the Mamprusis.”
In a press release issued on Sunday, September 21, 2025, Musah described the claims as “machinations and outright fabrications” deliberately created to distort the true purpose of the meeting. He clarified that the gathering in Bawku was a routine engagement with party delegates, focused strictly on addressing the concerns of NPP faithful and strategies for developing the party.
Musah explained that his comments, captured in the viral clip, were only to encourage dedication among party members with the assurance that victory in the 2028 elections would bring opportunities to address their challenges. He stressed that no discussions were held on issues beyond the welfare of party members and the future of the NPP.
He further urged the public to disregard the circulating audio and video, insisting that the NPP remains a responsible party that will always run campaigns based on progress and unity rather than division.

I am shocked with this development. The good people of Bawku and beyond should know that Humble Musah Salawudeen(Upper East NPP youth organizer )do not have the capacity regarding this, therefore this mere allegations should be considered as total falsehood.
