Gospel musician Brother Sammy has stated that his calling is to perform at secular events rather than in church, as a way to introduce non-believers to God.
In an interview with JoyNews, the singer defended his frequent appearances at non-Christian events, explaining that his mission is to share the gospel beyond the church, as the church audience is already familiar with God.
“These are the places I’m supposed to be because my God told me He came for sinners. Although we are all sinners, these are the places where I should bring the gospel, not the church,” Brother Sammy explained.
He further emphasized that his goal is to extend God’s message to those who may not know Him. “The church people already know God, so I need to introduce my God to others. That’s why I often attend and perform at such events,” he said.
Addressing criticism from both audiences and fellow gospel musicians, Brother Sammy said he remains unfazed. “Even my Lord Jesus faced backlash, so I don’t care. I know what I’m doing,” he asserted.
The gospel singer also dismissed concerns about his lifestyle, stating, “If you don’t like me, I don’t depend on you for money. I feed myself.” He added that he doesn’t take criticism personally, as no one supports him financially.
