NPP must clean house or keep losing – Frimpong-Boateng warns

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has called for sweeping changes within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing the current leadership of steering the party into an “unprecedented defeat.”

Speaking in an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, the former minister did not hold back in his criticism, describing some figures at the helm as “demons” who must be removed to salvage the party’s future.

“All the executives must resign for leading the party to an unprecedented defeat; if the demons in the NPP are not removed from their leadership positions, the party will continue to suffer,” he declared, pointing fingers at internal mismanagement and poor decision-making as the root causes of the NPP’s electoral struggles.

Frimpong-Boateng also expressed his disappointment in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, saying his warnings and counsel were ignored despite their potential to change the course of governance for the better.

“Akufo-Addo turned deaf ears to the many pieces of advice I gave him, which could have turned the fortunes.

“His governance was so disappointing. There are so many people behind the scenes in the NPP who love this country and could perform better, but were sidelined by President Akufo-Addo.”

He stressed that economic progress depends on strategic investment in human capital and the promotion of exports. “Good governance is common sense minus corruption; you don’t sit down and accumulate money as a country, you need exports which can be achieved by building a formidable human resource.”
