Nyantakyi sues Kweku Yeboah, Despite Media for GH₵10m over defamation

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has filed a GH₵10 million defamation lawsuit against sports journalist Dan Kweku Yeboah, Despite Media, and two other entities.

The suit, filed at the High Court in Accra, names Dan Kweku Yeboah (Peace FM), Despite Company Limited, ADPU Advertiser & Publisher Solutions Limited, and Ringier Ghana Limited as respondents.

Nyantakyi claims the defendants made defamatory statements that have damaged his reputation.

Allegations

Nyantakyi accuses the defendants of publishing false claims about his tenure as GFA president, including allegations of corruption and mismanagement. His legal team contends these accusations were made with malicious intent to tarnish his image.

Demands

The former GFA boss is seeking:

  • A retraction of the alleged defamatory statements.
  • An unqualified public apology.
  • GH₵10 million in damages.
  • A perpetual injunction preventing further defamatory publications.

The High Court, presided over by Justice Ali Baba Abature, has accepted the case for hearing, instructing the defendants to respond within the legally stipulated time.
