Former Vice President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, visited the residence of Rev. Ntim Fordjour after the National Investigation Bureau invaded his residence.
The decision to visit the ranking member of the Defence and Interior Committee was to solidarize with him.
This comes after the minority botched attempts to arrest their colleague by the NIB over allegations made on some flights that suspiciously entered Ghana and its content.
In a tweet announcing the visit, Ntim Fordjour said “Thank you very much HE Dr Mahamudu Bawumia @MBawumia for the visit to my residence this evening following the politically-motivated lawless act of harassment in the attempt of the NDC government to gag MPs from exercising their legitimate oversight”.
Meanwhile, minority leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin has insisted that it is imperative that government engages the minority rather than intimidate them for performing their oversight responsibility.
