UG: Students protest 20% hike in facility user fees

The University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) has expressed concerns over a 20% increase in facility user fees for traditional halls.

According to university management, the hike is due to the government’s decision to stop covering electricity costs for the institution.

In response, the SRC has convened an emergency EXECOM meeting to address the issue.

The council has pledged to challenge the increase through legal means to protect students’ interests.
