Bongo DCE hands over motorcycles to boost police mobility

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo, Hon. Joseph Akansake Abaah, has handed over ten brand-new motorcycles to the Ghana Police Service to enhance security operations in the district.

The presentation, held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, was made possible through a partnership between the Bongo District Assembly and the Coastal States Stability Mechanism (CSSM).

The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including the Paramount Chief of the Bongo Traditional Area, Naba Alemyarum Baba Salifu, sub-chiefs, the Member of Parliament for the constituency, assembly members, traditional leaders, security officials, and community members.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Abaah described the gesture as a “concrete step toward progress,” noting that the motorcycles would improve the police’s response time, especially in hard-to-reach areas of the district.

He emphasized that the donation forms part of the implementation of former President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda, which seeks to promote inclusive governance, stability, and equitable development.

“To the officers of the Ghana Police Service, this is your moment to reaffirm your dedication. These motorcycles are not just tools of transport; they are instruments of public trust,” the DCE stated, urging the police to use them responsibly and professionally.

While expressing gratitude to CSSM for their support, the DCE appealed for additional assistance in other key areas such as health, education, sanitation, and infrastructure to help accelerate rural development in Bongo.

He also commended the traditional authorities for their continuous leadership and collaboration, stressing that the development of the district depends on unity and collective effort.

The Paramount Chief, Naba Alemyarum Baba Salifu, and other dignitaries present lauded the initiative, describing it as timely in addressing the security needs of the people.
