The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has declared that criminal investigations will soon commence about the missing into how the 1,328 containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) went missing at the Tema Harbour.
Hon Abu Jinapor stated in a facebook post that, “Criminal investigations will be launched immediately, and the perpetrators surely be prosecuted”.
Mr Jinapor during the transition process also declared that, a team from the erstwhile NPP administration stated that about 3,000 ECG containers were stuck at the Tema Harbour due to the company’s inability to pay for clearance fees
Mr. Jinapor also noted however upon visiting the port that, a total of 2,500 had incurred demurrage worth about GHS1,500,000,000.
