A cryptic social media post by the Member of Parliament for Agona East has sparked heated discussions within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over recent appointments made by President John Mahama.
The MP, in a Facebook post, wrote: “The shoe will be dirty again, and the ‘Rag’ will be remembered. WatchMe👌”, leaving party members speculating about its meaning.
While she did not provide further clarification, her post appears to have struck a nerve among some NDC members who feel sidelined in the government’s appointments.
Disgruntled party loyalists, particularly those who were not appointed or had hoped to see their allies in key positions, have taken to social media to express their frustrations.
Some argue that the selection process is alienating the party’s grassroots and elected representatives, pointing to the absence of several Majority MPs from key government positions.
With indications that many of them may go unappointed—at least in the first year of Mahama’s administration—concerns are growing about internal discontent within the ruling party.
