Blakk Rasta sets +233 on fire

Not even the Ghana Fire Service water would have been strong enough to quench the fire the Kuchoko Legend set at the +234 Jazz Bar & Grill on Saturday to climax the Kuchoko Roots Festival.

Playing to diplomats and corporate Ghana including Ga chiefs and the chief of Aburi, Nana Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, Rasta took the stage at 9.30pm and worked the crowd vehemently till 10.30pm.

Hit after hit, the artiste, alongside his Herbalist Band belted out crucial, radical songs such as Thief President, Barack Obama, Sodom & Gomorrah, Sakina, Iyawata, Chucku Laryea and Congo Bongo.

The energy was extraordinary as the crowd warmed up to the artistry. The band was well-rehearsed and exciting.

Patrons, after the high note exit of the artiste could not but ask for you. “Now, Blakk Rasta has nothing to prove anymore. He is a true performer!,” a patron said to this news portal in an interview.

A couple of weeks ago, Blakk Rasta & the Herbalist Band were adjudged the best band at Burkina Faso’s FESPACO.

Kenyatta Hill was next on stage to close the event. He performed over twenty songs for his late father’s rich repertoire to the admiration of all who stood up dancing till well after 12 midnight. His energy was top class.

Earlier, Ghanaian acts Knii Lante and Osagyefo kept the stage warm enough to deserve a call back to +233 Jazz Bar & Grill.

Kuchoko Roots Festival is an annual Reggae/Kuchoko festival that seeks to put the spotlight on indigenous Reggae made in Africa.
