I prefers to keep my life private – M.anifest

Renowned Ghanaian rapper M.anifest shared insights into his career and family life during a conversation with ace broadcaster Bola Ray on Starr Chat, as monitored by Newsnetgh.com.

When quizzed about his relationship status, M.anifest sidestepped specifics, responding with humor: “You might need to DM me for such information. Or just listen to my music – all the truths are in there.” He emphasized his preference for keeping personal matters private.

On his career, M.anifest reflected on his bold decision to return to Ghana in 2011. “I began a career in the US and had opportunities in Europe, but I literally transferred my life to Ghana and started again,” he said. He acknowledged the challenges of staying true to his alternative music style in a market that leaned toward mainstream trends. “People wondered if I’d conform, but I chose to be inventive,” he explained.

M.anifest expressed pride in his journey, noting how far he’s come. “Every year, I’m adding something new. There was a time when even making a living from music felt far-fetched. Now, I’m doing things of more substance. I never think I’ve ‘made it’ because that’s when you start falling off.”

On family, M.anifest confirmed a personal detail that had sparked curiosity. Addressing a photo of a young boy circulating online, he revealed, “Yes, he’s my son. He’s 14 now, and his nickname is Minest. My mother is Mama Fest, so it’s a whole festive family affair.”

Despite his openness about some aspects of his life, M.anifest remains committed to keeping his private matters out of thespotlight.
