Dumsor crisis: Ato Forson storms Energy Ministry

In a bid to tackle Ghana’s lingering power crisis, popularly known as dumsor, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has engaged in high-level discussions with Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor.

The crucial meeting, held on Wednesday, March 12, aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two ministries in addressing the country’s energy challenges.

Announcing the engagement on Facebook, Mr. Jinapor described Dr. Forson as a “brother, friend, and colleague,” emphasizing the significance of their discussions. “We used the opportunity to discuss the challenges in the energy sector and how to overcome them,” he stated.

The discussions are expected to pave the way for strategic financing solutions to stabilize the country’s energy supply, especially as Ghana pushes forward with its energy transition agenda.

As Ghanaians continue to experience frequent blackouts, all eyes are on the Finance and Energy Ministries to deliver concrete measures to keep the lights on.
