Ken Ofori-Atta sues police officers over raid on his home

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has sued two police officers for allegedly trespassing and violating his privacy during a raid on his residence in Labone, Accra.

The officers, DSP Bismark Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah, also known as Sir-Mensah, led the operation on February 11, 2025.

Ofori-Atta, through his lawyer Bright Okyere-Adjekum, filed the lawsuit at the General Jurisdiction High Court on March 10, 2025, under suit number GJ/0552/2025.

He is seeking four reliefs: a declaration that the officers’ actions were unlawful, damages for trespass, aggravated damages for privacy invasion, and a perpetual injunction to prevent further intrusions.

He is also demanding compensation for legal costs.

The lawsuit adds to growing concerns about police conduct and raises questions about the reasons behind the raid.

Authorities are yet to comment on the matter.
