Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has called on former Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam to apologize to Ghanaians over his claim that the previous government did not implement the betting tax.
Amin Adam, while addressing the press after the presentation of the 2025 budget, stated that the former administration did not introduce or enforce the betting tax.
However, his successor, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, refuted this, insisting that the tax was implemented in the second quarter of 2024 and generated GHS 80 billion in revenue.
Reacting to the controversy, Shatta Wale, who is an outspoken punter, took to social media to mock the former minister, demanding an apology.
“Please sir, who is the ‘We’ nu or you’re talking about ‘Wee’?” he wrote, insinuating that Amin Adam was avoiding accountability. “Because it is true, ‘Wee’ cannot implement that… It be wicked human beings like you who can do that.”
Continuing his rant, the musician questioned whether the former minister had forgotten that he served under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
“Don’t make I bore. Just apologize to Ghanaians, otherwise your ‘We’ party will ‘wee wee’ and we will not vote for ‘we’ again,” he concluded.
Shatta Wale’s comments have sparked reactions on social media, with some users supporting his call for accountability while others criticized his approach.
