Nantong Constituency’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in turmoil following the suspension of 34 party members by the constituency chairman, Alhaji Abukari Inusah. The move has sparked outrage among party members and supporters, with many questioning the rationale behind the decision.
Reacting to the development, Napaga Tia Sulemana, a former Special Initiative Coordinator under the Nana Addo government and a key figure in the constituency, took to Facebook with a cryptic message:
“Nantong Constituency Diaries, we will be forced to speak our truth soon. The party may suspend all of us.”
Her statement has since sent shockwaves through the constituency, fueling speculation about a possible revelation that could expose deep-seated issues within the party’s leadership.
The suspension letter, signed by Alhaji Abukari Inusah, has been fully disclosed to the public, but indicate that the affected members have been accused of engaging in activities contrary to the party’s interests.
Some believe the move is linked to internal power struggles, disagreements over parliamentary primaries, and frustrations with how the constituency is being managed.
A senior NPP member in Nantong, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the situation as “a political witch hunt,” adding:
“The party should be focused on strengthening unity, not creating unnecessary divisions. This suspension will only cause more problems.”
Napaga Tia Sulemana’s post suggests that those affected by the suspension are preparing to break their silence. Her statement,
“We will be forced to speak our truth soon,” hints at potential revelations about internal party conflicts.
Her mention of a possible mass suspension has also raised concerns that more party members could face disciplinary action if they decide to challenge the leadership’s decision.
