Ghanaian actress and influencer Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, popularly known as Ahuofe Patri, has recounted a frustrating experience of being scammed while trying to order fried rice and chicken from Papaye, a well-known restaurant.
In a video, the former Boys Kasa star shared that hunger struck during a film shoot, prompting her to order food.
“The restaurant was nearby, but I didn’t want to risk leaving the set and disrupting the schedule, so I opted for delivery,” she said.
Ahuofe searched online for Papaye’s contact and reached someone claiming to represent the restaurant.
They requested upfront payment before delivery. “I was hesitant, but I decided to proceed,” she explained.
After making the payment, she received an SMS with a code and instructions not to share it.
Shortly after, another call came through, demanding the code. Despite her discomfort, she eventually shared it, only to realize she had been duped.
“I received multiple messages authorizing a withdrawal of 300 cedis from my account. Thankfully, I quickly canceled the transaction,” she revealed.
Still determined to get her food, Ahuofe decided to drive to the restaurant herself. However, her attempt to report the scam left her disappointed.
“The staff admitted that other customers had also been scammed, but their response was indifferent. No manager got involved, and there was no urgency to address the issue,” she lamented.
