The Koforidua Technical University is set to host the second edition of the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign on 29th and 30th May 2025. This exciting campaign aims to promote women’s football at the grassroots level, aligning with the Ghana Football Association Women’s Football Strategy.
The programme provides a unique platform to encourage young girls to participate in football while fostering a love for the game. Designed to meet the needs of children who seek socialization, skill development, and a judgment-free environment, the initiative emphasizes small-sided games for U12 basic schoolgirls and a fun, safe, and non-competitive atmosphere. Again, opportunities for free play, decision-making, and friendship-building.
Beyond the game, the programme helps young girls develop life skills, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. For many, this is their first introduction to structured football, making it an essential step in nurturing future talent.
The GFA Women’s Football Development Desk is leveraging this momentum to establish new competitions at the grassroots, youth, and senior levels. Expand school games and tournaments. As well, identify ambassadors to advocate for equal opportunities in women’s football.
The event will feature a five-a-side tournament where young players can showcase their skills, enjoy the game, and be inspired by the growing movement of women’s football in Ghana.
This campaign is more than just a tournament; it’s a celebration of women’s football and a step toward a more inclusive sporting future in Ghana.
The first edition of the program was held in Kumasi .
