The Ghana Football Association continues to pursue its policy of developing more girls and women to take over every aspect of women’s football development and encouraging more girls into the game through its Women’s Football Strategy pillar of increasing women’s participation in football.

Football Festivals, like the previous edition held in Kumasi, bring together girls from numerous primary schools to play, enjoy football, make friends, and learn about the sport. These events feature various women in football, including legends and role models, who participate in programs and projects such as women’s refereeing, coaching, ex-national team players, women’s administrators, and women in sports journalism.
