In a decisive move to restore order and accountability, the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, inaugurated a high-powered seven-member committee to investigate growing concerns over irregularities regarding the reclaimed lands in Keta.

Expressing deep disappointment over glaring inconsistencies between the official land layout and the current state on the ground, Mr Gunu stated that the situation calls for urgent attention.

“We cannot allow impunity and disorder to derail our vision for a modern, well-planned Keta,” he said.

The minister stressed that proper land management is critical to the area’s transformation and sustainable development.

Chaired by respected land administration expert Dr Joe Attipoe, the committee has been tasked to probe the roles and responsibilities of the Keta Municipal Assembly, key stakeholders, and private individuals whose actions may have compromised the integrity of the land demarcation and allocation processes.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Attipoe assured the people of Keta of the committee’s commitment to transparency and justice. “We are fully aware of the trust you’ve placed in us. We will not fail you,” he pledged.
