In a landmark event for child welfare, the Nana Amoasi VII Charity Foundation concluded the 2025 Child Health Promotion Week with a comprehensive community durbar in Ekumfi Abor, bringing critical health services directly to local families.
The annual celebration, traditionally observed by the Ghana Health Service, focused this year on the theme: “Every Child Deserves a Healthy Future; Invest in Your Child. Attend ‘Weighing’ Regularly.”
The event offered an impressive array of free health services, including vaccination programs, child growth monitoring, Vitamin A supplementation, free birth registration for infants under one year, comprehensive health education, distribution of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets, and free National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) registration for children five years and below.

In attendance were, Nana Araba Ahinfuwa, Queen Mother of Ekumfi Abor; Nana Edumadze III, Regent of Ekumfi Abor; Dr. Regina Ahunu-Armah, District Director of Health Services; and a representative of the Member of Parliament.
Dr. Regina Ahunu-Armah highlighted the critical importance of the event, emphasizing its role in improving child survival by reducing child morbidity and mortality. She also expressed gratitude to the Nana Amoasi VII Foundation for their continued support towards health service delivery in the district
Nana Araba Ahinfuwa and Nana Edumadze III stressed the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, routine immunisations, and ensuring children have birth certificates and active health insurance.

They pledged ongoing collaboration with the Nana Amoasi VII Charity Foundation to support the community’s children.
Mothers who received these vital services expressed overwhelming joy and appreciation for the initiative, praising the Ekumfi District Health Directorate, Nana Amoasi VII Charity Foundation, and Hon. Dr. Ekow Kwainoe for their commitment to child health.
