Eyewitnesses told Radio Fosu and Adom News that the Yutong bus veered off its lane while attempting to overtake and collided head-on with the oncoming tipper truck.

Reports suggest that the bus’s steering wheel locked during the manoeuvre, leading to the deadly crash.

While police have yet to release an official report, eyewitnesses confirmed that four passengers died instantly, and many others were injured and taken to nearby health facilities for treatment.

Elisha Sarpong, the Assembly Member for Assin Bresiako Electoral Area, confirmed the incident to Adom News, stating that the bus was headed to Kumasi after loading from Cape Coast when the crash occurred.
