Mobile phone leads to arrest of suspects in Twifo Praso killing

-

The Central North Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of 34-year-old Tahiru Zenabu, who was found dead in her room at Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso in the Central Region.

The breakthrough in the case came after one of the suspects used the victim’s mobile phone—a critical misstep that helped police track them down.

Zenabu was discovered on April 3 with a cloth tied around her neck and blood stains on her hands, suggesting a struggle before her death.

After a month-long investigation, police made significant progress on May 5, when Richard Armah, a mobile phone repairer and spinner residing in Twifo Aboabo, used the deceased’s phone to contact one of her friends.

The friend, recognising the number, immediately alerted authorities. Acting swiftly, police traced and arrested Armah. During interrogation, he named Isaac Arhin as his accomplice. Arhin was subsequently arrested.

The victim’s mobile phone has since been recovered and is in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Both suspects were put before the court on May 7 and remanded into police custody. They are expected to reappear on May 21.
