Ghana Tourism Authority pays courtesy call on Ga Mantse

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), led by the Chief Executive Officer Maame Efua Houadjeto, paid a courtesy call on Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II on May 7, 2025, at the Ga Mantse Palace.

This first official engagement between the Authority and the Ga Traditional Council underscores GTA’s commitment to partnering with traditional leaders to boost tourism in the Greater Accra Region.

“Greater Accra is home to unique sites like Jamestown Lighthouse, forts, castles, and even a monkey sanctuary. Promoting these cultural landmarks requires strong local collaboration,” the CEO noted.

The discussion included support for the upcoming Homowo Festival, revitalizing tourism infrastructure in Jamestown, youth engagement and training in tourism management, preparations for Ghana’s hosting of FESTAG—Africa’s premier festival of arts and culture, and promoting the Black Star Experience to attract global visitors.

The Ga Mantse expressed his support and emphasised the role of tourism in promoting traditional festivals and culture. GTA reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with the Ga State to enhance cultural tourism and local development.
