Hohoe United solidified their place on top of the table in Zone Three with 57 points after defeating relegation-threatened Kings Place FC 3-1 at home to further extend their home winning streak to 13 matches. Kwadwo Boamah’s 19th-minute goal gave Hohoe United a slim lead by halftime. After the break, Randy Forson equalized for Kings Place with a stunner in the 51st minute, while Farouk Mohammed put the home side in front again from a spot kick in the 60th minute before Sena Ati made it 3-1 for Hohoe United in the 85th minute.
Port City FC claimed a third successive victory in the league without conceding, with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Golden Kick SC at the Daasebre Boamah Darko II Park. The win keeps their title pursuit alive and closing the gap on league leaders Hohoe United to three points (54). Port City FC’s top scorer Bernard Quarcoo, and Kwadwo Asamoah scored two crucial goals in either half to help the home side clinch all the spoils. Bernard scored first in the 28th minute, followed by Kwadwo Asamoah’s brilliant finish in the 61st minute.
Also Home Stars FC ended a five-game winless run (D1, L4) with a narrow 1-0 win over FC Nania at their home grounds. Pius Saletsi scored the decisive goal in the 48th minute to help Home Stars FC grab all the points. They are currently 7th in the league table with 34 points.
