It’s a mental thing – Yvonne Nelson slams cosmetic surgery

Popular Ghanaian actress and movie producer Yvonne Nelson has expressed strong disapproval of body enhancement, describing it as a manifestation of low self-confidence.

Speaking in a recent interview with Joy News, she maintained that altering one’s natural body is often rooted in mental insecurity rather than a genuine need.

“If I were to do anything to my body, I would rather have a lot of babies. If I want to find myself in the hospital, it’s because I want to have babies, not because I want to cut somewhere and chip something in,” she said. “I feel that it is a mental thing. It is a lack of confidence.”

Yvonne, known for being outspoken on societal issues, cautioned women about the psychological trap of cosmetic alterations. She believes that the cycle of enhancement never truly ends once it begins.

“I do not expect any of you to do that, because the minute you do that, it never stops. The minute you alter any part of your body, you would want to alter another part. You would want a fuller lip. You would want a bigger ear. You would always want to change something about you,” she warned.
