The CEO of My Time Group of Companies, Karim Alhassan, has made a significant contribution to the ongoing reconstruction of the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, the traditional seat of the Dagbon Kingdom.
His donation comprises 50 bags of cement and GH¢5,000 in cash, aimed at supporting the development of this cultural landmark.
The reconstruction of the Gbewaa Palace is a central component of a 10-year strategic development plan for Dagbon, initiated by the Overlord, Ya-Na Abukari II.
The project seeks to modernize the palace while preserving its cultural significance.
Karim Alhassan, a native of Tamale, has been recognized for his entrepreneurial achievements in the hospitality industry.
In April 2024, he was honored as the Young CEO in Africa’s hospitality sector at the African Outstanding Professionals Awards held in Tanzania.
The Gbewaa Palace reconstruction has garnered support from various individuals and institutions.
Notably, the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, donated GH¢200,000 to the project. Additionally, Valley View University contributed 100 bags of cement as part of its community service initiatives.
The Dagbang Development Fund Committee has reported receiving over GH¢4.6 million in contributions toward the palace’s reconstruction, reflecting widespread support from both local and international donors.
