How God guided Jimmy Odukoya’s hair journey to align with his divine purpose

In a powerful sermon, Jimmy Odukoya, the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, shared a deeply personal and spiritual experience surrounding his decision to keep his dreadlocks.

According to Odukoya, his hair is not just a personal style choice but a divine instruction with a higher purpose.

“One of the things I asked the Lord before I came back was whether I should cut my hair or not. And He told me not to cut my hair,” Odukoya recalled in his sermon, recounting a conversation he had with a woman upon his return.

“She came back and said I wasn’t supposed to cut my hair. I replied, ‘I know, because God already told me.

“People think I’m crazy when I tell them I’m coming to Nigeria for three to four weeks. But in 2016, I had a vision where I saw you with your hair, speaking to me and giving me instructions.’”

Odukoya went on to explain that the woman’s vision from 2016 had profoundly impacted him. “What struck me the most was that I didn’t even have long hair when she had that vision in 2016.

“But God, who knows all, was preparing me to be the exact person she needed to see in 2025. If I had cut it, she might not have recognized me. God made me keep the hair to save a life.”

For Odukoya, his dreadlocks became more than just a physical appearance but a manifestation of divine guidance and a symbol of purpose.
