If you dont understand, report me to Mahama Bukom Banku says as he seizes Bukom astroturf

Former Ghanaian boxer Brimah Kamako, famously known as Bukom Banku, has boldly claimed responsibility for the Bukom Astroturf, revealing that he is the caretaker of the facility, and no one can bully him over its management.

Speaking in an interview with Max TV, Bukom Banku explained his crucial role in maintaining the turf and made it clear that if anyone has a problem with it, they can report to high-ranking officials, including former President John Dramani Mahama.

“I’m from Bukom, and no one can bully me because of the astroturf. I’m the caretaker. If you like, go and tell President John Mahama, the Vice President, or the MP.

“They pay directly to me because I’m the caretaker,” Banku stated confidently.

He also emphasized that the Bukom Assemblyman has no role in the maintenance of the turf. “This issue has nothing to do with the assemblyman.

The assemblyman cannot be the caretaker of the astroturf. His job is to clean the gutters and clear refuse to keep the community clean,” Banku explained, further asserting his control over the facility.

The astroturf, which was upgraded from an old sandy park into a modern sports facility in 2020, has faced its fair share of challenges since its completion.

Despite the government’s initiative, the pitch began to show signs of wear as early as 2022, and many locals blamed the rushed construction process for the deterioration.

Some also questioned the maintenance of the facility, especially considering the early onset of its decline.

In response to these concerns, Bukom Banku explained that the money he receives goes directly into the maintenance of the park.

“I use the money to maintain the turf because it belongs to the community. It is a community park, so someone must be in charge but not just anybody,” Banku added.

The Bukom Astroturf, though a symbol of progress for the local community, continues to face questions regarding its upkeep.
