Popular Nigerian content creator and actress Nons Miraj has shared the unfiltered story of her hustle journey — from struggling with poorly paid movie roles to building a business that helped her hit her first million.
Speaking candidly, Nons Miraj revealed that acting, at the early stage of her career, was far from lucrative.
“It was rubbish money; unlike a salary job where you make 70K monthly, they pay you 90K after shooting for three months. It was not worth it,” she said.
Determined not to go broke, she turned to side hustles — buying perfumes and jewelry from Balogun market and selling them at huge profits.
“I would go to Balogun market, buy perfumes and jewelry for N3K and sell them at N50K. I divided the profit into two: one for my piggy bank and the other to fund my life,” she disclosed.
Nons Miraj also clarified that while men came around, she wasn’t the type to depend on them for financial survival.
“Men were coming but not the type you think will sponsor your life. I was in a relationship but not in the sugar daddy vibe,” she noted.
She added that she had multiple saving strategies — including saving with her mother and running a salon business alongside her acting career. Things only got better when her social media presence began paying off.
“I was saving with my mum, I had my own savings, my salon was there, and acting started paying N300K after social media presence,” she added.
For Nons Miraj, financial independence became her biggest pride.
“I didn’t wait for a man to give me; my pride grew when I started making more money. There’s nothing I couldn’t give myself,” she proudly declared.
